How do you like the kit and performance?
I did not get the long arm kit- did get the sye though.

any problems with the install?

Well, my buddy has the 4.5" it..bith upper and lower short arms, and spacers up front to level it out...turns out that he has/had too much flex on the front and the lower arm would bind between the axle housing and the mount...last month, the mount lost...it also killed another upper mount on the pass side...I would look into limiting straps or something...My buddy is now having his gears reset into a new housing and then we are putting on a long arm kit.

Oh, yeah...good luck on the install...drivers side front was easy, but the pass side kinda sucked...

It was lifted with a 3" kit when he bought it for a nice deal. All we did was swap coils to the 4.5"ones..so, he is still doing ok:flipoff2:

Advise: Sell it and build your own. Wish I would have the first time.

Hey Beast40, besides triangulating the rear, what would you ahve done differently to improve on the RE Kit? Just curious. :D

Well, if it were up to me..I'd build my own and stretch the WB out to about 100"...but, my buddy doesn't fab and I don't have the time to fab something for him.

The first thing I would have done was supported another PirateBB member and bought it from me!!!!! Plus when you got to a  part you could call one of the people that actually install them. :flipoff2:

It's a time consuming one to install. There are a couple tricks. Such as when you install the shock pins grind little angles in them first.

yeah:D AND BE SURE TO USE THE RIGHT REAR TRACK BAR BRACKET, its supposed to go straight up off the mount not slant towards the front of the jeep. if its not straight you got a ZJ one

The bent, or slanted, one is so you can adjust pinion angle with an SYE without binding the stock rear track bar.

The front radius arms fight each other, which is the reason they use bushings up there. When your rig can flex like mine the bushing don't last long at all. I am changing to a 3 link with optional radius and pan hard bar.

The rear straight lower links contribute to rear steer, I'm going to triangulate them as well or go to a wishbone.

Just got back in town and picked up on this thread. I just put a RE 4.5" non long arm kit on my wifes TJ. Drives like crap. It has the forward slanted track bar relocater on the rear. Someone is telling me to eliminate that altogether and put on a JKS adjustable bar and it will solve the problem. I've done the SYE and 4" dropped pitman arm as part of the lift. By the way the simptoms are that it oversteers badly at anything over 35mph.

Get rid of that dropped Pitman... I have that lift and think it rides fine. If you lock the ass end, be prepard to pull wheelies any time you want to turn left and accelerate... Entertaining for a few minutes, then highly aggravating. Just a short arm thing...

I agree...Get rid of the drop pitman arm. You dont need it with the 4.5" lift. Watch those control arm mounts. I am the guy that Scout Dude is talking about. They are weak and hang so low that they regularly smack rocks.

Oh yah it isn't really a wheelie...More like the sweet "three wheel motion." And me without my 40 of old english:D

I recently put the 4 1/2 short arm kit on my 98TJ, regeared to 4:56 and put a detroit/lock-rite in diffs. I did not install a droped pitman arm and bumpsteer is a non-issue. I can probably stand to adjust my front upper arms a bit to change the castor as I have a slight flat spot.

I had the slanted/angled rear trackbar relocation bracket and after adjusting the rear pinion for the Atlas putting the trackbar on was a pain in the friggin ass due to binding. I vote with the flame-throwing penguin ( I would have been better off with the straight bracket and it will be changed out).

No luck on lifting the front drivers tire yet on U-turns...more gas I guess.

Best of all the Jeep now rides more like a tractor (no front swaybar, lockers, gears and bias-ply swampers) and I know my old lady will hate to drive it!!!!!!!:D

not sure which tire you're raising, but I only have a 2" lift and my left rear lifts when I pull a u-turn to the left...little scary the first time it happened, but I just got used to it after a while
