: K5 Passenger Side Window Replacement

I broke my window about a month ago inside the door and am just now getting the time to replace it. Went to the junkyard and was able to get a replacement window out of a similar year C10. (my k5 is an 84, the window came from an 80s C10, same front end).

I got the vent window out, got the door panel off, got the side view mirror support out of the door and was able to get the rollers in the lower track of the window glass. my problem comes when im trying to align the window with the rear vertical track, it wont tilt back into it.

I am not sure how to attack this. The window motor and regulator assembly are all still inside the door and i never took them out. when i shattered the original window, i didnt know it was the window and i tried to raise it up, could this have thrown the regulator out of alignment?

any helps, hints or tips are appreciated.

tried the search, nothing like this came up.

Seems to me that you should just play with the window regulator up or down until it is right again and the glass will align with the frame. Ive never worked on this year model glass but Ive changed the glass on the 88-98 models. If all else fails just pull the door panel off of the other side and try and see what you need to adjust to make it work. just a thought, good luck.

so if the window regulator moved without the weight of the window on it, would it change its geometry?
