OK,
- pretty much stock 1.3
- stock wiring harness in truck
- I installed the Petroworks alternator conversion kit
- I had the 105 amp alternator made up and it's in
- I'll be installing the larger V belt in a few hours.
Before I fire her up...is the anything else I should upgrade or double check?
I know you guys talk about this fusable link?...and over-riding it or beefing it up sometimes?
Where is that, exactly?...anyone got a pic?

the fusable link is (on an unfawked around with Sammy:D ) right off the positive of the battery. it's just a section of wire that is several gauges smaller, so it will blow first prior to your electical system. most replace this with an inline 30 amp fuse. i'm not sure why they use fusable links instead of fuses in some applications. maybe to try to avoid having people replace an oem fuse with a possible "wrong" one (too high amperage)and set themselves on fire? :flipoff2:

WILL I EVER MAKE IT TO THE TRAIL???
This 105 amp alternator...fully rebuilt is showing a full 14 volts outside the vehicle on the test bed...
but in the Sammi it's charging at 9 volts!!!
Which is not considered charging!!??
What the F'k?
have you guys seen this before?
could it be that there is no ignition getting to the Alternator?
(is the a fuse for that?) or an area where the wire feed to the alterator can fray easily?

I used to have one, but I sold it 'cause I knew it wouldn't stay "unfawked with" long.:D
I figured 3 was enough.

If any of you are following this...
I found the ALT prob:
I had to grind down the output stud and nut to clear the motor mount...in doing so, I guess I over heated the stuff inside from grinding down the stud to a red orange... the stud and little wire in there have been replaced...
it's just fine....
I'm getting antsy...can you tell?
The rig is due for it's 1 st run with all the Rovers this Sat in MA
...we'll see

OK, how far is that stud from the motor mount now that you´ve ground it down?? Is there any chance that they will contact under engine vibration??
If so, then it may be more that your electrical system that ends up fried!!!

i had someone torque and twist it under load, forward & reverse, with the brakes on...
It's damn close but not touching.
I don't really want to grind down the stock mount.
Is anyone running beeffed mounts that get in the way of thier beeffed alternator?

I hacked a chuck out of the motor mount and have never had a problem. And yes, I´ve been upside down...:p
