Can a Bosch VE pump be swapped with a P7100 on a '91 12-valve?

From what I have heard yes it can be done. It does take some work and you need to swap over a ton of stuff from the P-pump motor to the VE pump motor...

It can be done but it is a lot of work.

Unless you are trying to get a ton of power out of the 1st gen you should just stick with the VE.

Look on www.dieseltruckresource.com there's a lot of info on that subject there.

You need the pump, lift pump, injectors lines, injectors, timing gear, timing case cover and misc other stuff. You will be better off swapping engines. If you can find a doner engine (blown or somthing) that would help.

That sounds like more work than I have time for right now. Thanks for the info :p

Basically you need to swap the whole front case. And to change the accessory drive case you have to remove the cam:D When that is out, you will decide it is toast so you'll be buying a cam and lifters too. It'd be easier to swap in a different running engine.
