I am finally starting to put it all together. I have a 70 FJ40 that I am putting a 4.3 in with an nv4500. I had thought about running a np208 but it looks like that would cause some lenght issues. For those who have done this, is there an inexpensive way to get the stock 3 speed transfercase to bolt up? I have looked at the Advance Adapters kit and it seems a little pricey. Or is it possible to run a np208? Any input would help.
Thanks

All options on a 4500 are long. AA is the only option I have ever heard of for Cruiser cases.
It works well though. If AA sells an adapter for a later model case, i would suggest that if you are going to spend the $$, might as well upgrade in case strength too.

I upgraded to a 38mm idler split case when I got the NV4500... expensive but a much stronger case, and low gears are availible to boot(not too bad if you get them from Aus, not AA or other places in the US)
Although it is a long tranny(compared to an H42 or SM420, I have a driveshaft that is abouit 2.5 inches shorter than a stock 4spd cruiser.(I have a V8)
