I know that using rear springs in the front will move the axle forward about 1.5" and give a small lift.
I'm thinking of using some rear 6" softrides up front.
Any thoughts?
can't be done :p
First off, it moves it 2" forward of stock. Secondly, I tried using a rear 4" NWOR pack up front and it was WAY too tall...

dont stock front springs have neg arc.
and if you put stock rears on front it gives like 4" of lift.
so if you have a lifted spring you have to add 4 plus whatever amount the lift spring is.

I used Skyjacker rears up front. I took out the load bearing leaf and moved the mount forward some. They are soft and flexy but I think they will break soon. I am planning 44044's when that happens.

Uhhh - no.
You have to remember that stock rear springs have about HALF the spring rate that front leaf springs do... So just because they have more free arch, does not mean you are gonna get that much lift.

I used my 86 rears in the front when I did the SAS. They never did much in the rear but they came to life with the weight of the engine over em'. (this goes back to the spring rate issue DRM was talking about.....)Couldn't tell you how much lift they gave me since I went from IFS to the SAS. If I had to guess I'd say they gave about 3~4" over the IFS. After I tweeked them on the trail a couple of times they settled to about 2~3".........

I used rears up front along with a couple other front leafs I had laying around. The lift matched the Chevy rears and gave me a very nice shackle angle. I have the stock front mounts for now, but will upgrade to a stronger setup later with 1" drop.
This is my rears up front but im about to pull them out today and re-do them as they are not high enough.
These are only 31s on it but i will be running 37/38 soon.
I usually run 33 Simex jungle trekkers.
