Oh my god, how do morons get jobs at parts stores. They guy at pep boys didnt even know WTF I was talkin about....the napa guy cant cross reference so he says I have to bring the old one in  The stealership guy finally found it after 10 min on the fawkin phone and I got the Jeep part number. However, Jeep no longer sells them individually for $12.50 each, instead you have to buy the whole steering shaft again :rainbow:

I just saw a thread about this on www.off-road.com short wheel base forum. It has a title like “Cheap steering fix” It had part numbers, but I’m not sure they were replacements, or home-fab parts.

I feel your pain Keith, I feel your pain.

...2wd Wrangler, ha, I've actually heard that one before, one of my best friends, and an ex-girlfriend who is now like a little sister to me, stood up in a wedding a couple of years ago, with this tool from out of town, well she got kinda sweet on him, and asked if he could ride with us from the reception to the bar, and if we could drop him off at his hotel, yeah, just what I wanted to do. Anyway, this sausage climbs into my Jeep, then on 33's and says to me "is this thing four wheel drive" then proceeding to argue with me that he knows that you can get them that way, as if I didn't already hate him. What a dork, so I suggest taking a little trail I know that runs behind the reception hall and she says hell yeah (gotta love country girls) so we go through this little trail, over a couple of boulders, up a little hill climb, and back out onto the road and weenie boy almost pees his pants screeming when we get a little vertical while she's just a laughing all the way, then on the way into town the idiot pukes all over the back of my Jeep and passes out. And to think after all of that she still dated the guy for a couple months before she caught him kissing another chick and kick him right square in the Jimmy, that's my girl!

Sorry to get so off topic, but the 2wd Wrangler thing reminded me of that story.
