Will anyone ever make a higher ratio than 5.13 and if not, why?

dude i asked this same question about 3 weeks ago and got battered with the "you should be bumped down to a newbie" hate flame replies......no one knows, its just that way! Deal with it bro, or open up a business and start bustin em out! I think that the way the housing is set up, with the ring gear thickness, and the way the pinion sits in the housing, it is just not feasible for clearance issues  Just get a Dana 70 and run 7.17's :D:D

thanks for the answers. I didn't know if it was the way the 14 bolt was designed that wouldn't allow it.

Supply & Demand. Most folks who "need" a 14-bolt have Big V8's which don't require ultra-low gearing. And for those who DO need it with that big of a rear, the 70 has always been there.
