I have a TJ and ive been trying to beat the dreaded Death Wobble for the last year. Ive tried everything. In the last 2 weeks ive done a 4 wheel alignment, put on an adjustable trac bar, balanced and rotated tires. It started when i had to replace my steering box and new adjustable upper control arms on the front. I dont know what else to do and it is becoming very frustrating. any have an idea??? PLEASE HELP!!!

It could be a bad bushing on your control arms or a bad U-joint, sometimes. Tim

Since it started with your upper control arms I'd guess you've got your caster set wrong. In simple terms you adjusted the arms and rotated your axle the wrong way.

I delt with the same thing for OVER a year after installing a "custom long arm" and couldn't get above 35mph, then left it on the back burner for awhile. I ended up replacing just about everything in the front and still had it. Then I did ALOT of research and I narrowed it down and checked out my bushings so I bought a bushings replacement kit (replaced the upper & lower control arms) and that helped out a bunch. I then started messing with my caster and the MORE caster I gave it the better it got. So needless to say I can now go down the highway at 80 and let go of the wheel and she is as straight as an arrow.
So a breakdown:
replaced trac bar
replaced upper & lower bushings on control arms
added more caster
Now it drives GREAT. Hope this helps your problem.
