I was thinking of trying to organize a local competiton at Windrock(Rattlerock).I was trying to see how many people would be interested in one.I would also like to do a timed event going down trail 39 and turn around and come back to the top.what do you think?would anyone be interested.Small competitions there have done pretty well in the past.

It depends on the turn out at first.

yeah , would'nt make much sense without good turnout. but it would be nice to have a comp series (maybe 3 events) a little closer than hannibal to go along with werock.

I think it would be good for the local guys and alot of fun and might even inspire someone to compete on a bigger scale.

I agree totally. Just watching a local comp this summer inspired me to build a rig for the 09 season . these are the types of things that will keep our sport alive and thriving. I also figured last place needed a fresh name in it........."mine".

ROCKRAWL

with 8 MINS of downtime for going to get a wrench to tighten a loo:)se hydro line. Bottom line is I am in!!!!

I don't think it would be a problem to get alot of local guys out for an event like that. I know the guys in Oneida have a small club with at least 5-6 that would be interested. I definatly would be there. They also have been putting together mud bogs and charity events and would be glad to help in any way. Check us out at www.bigsouthforkoffroad.com

Any pics and video of the trails? I've never wheeled windrock but a local comp sounds fun.

The purpose of this post was to see what kind of support a local comp would have. Thanks

give notice a month or so out and we could probably get 2-3 rigs.

37"s are the new 33"s :flipoff2:

Id say 37"s and under
and
38"s and up

if there are maybe 15+ rigs we could do a middle weight:p

keep it simple.
-$5 to enter and the winner in each category wins the pot.
-fastest time wins. period.

Jan 17th?
Jan 24th?

Not sayin windrock is a bad choice, but the offroad park in sneedeville would be an idea location for a comp. It would be way more spectator freindly and you could talk to 250cows (the owner) here on the board and have it set up that that would be the only thing going on in the park at that time. And there is more hardcore rock obsticles there than probably every southeast park put together.

This is true, sneedville is the best place I've wheeled for rocks.. They had a werock style course setup but I'm sure a more rock racing style course could be setup if desired.

The reason I choose Windrock is because there are alot of wheelers close,Oak Ridge,Maryville,Knoxville, etc.I was trying to get the local clubs and anyone else interested.

You could also try Offroad Mayhem in Viola TN. I think EOR is going to have a comp there sometime in April. The last ones they had there were timed. Fastest to the top won. Lots of Rocks and real spectator friendly. Some of the trails you could set in a car in the field they use for parking and watch.

can 2 wheel drive buggys enter?or is it a 4x4 only thing.if it is thats cool i wouldnt want it handed to me by a 2 wheeler ether

ROCKRAWL

No 2 wheel drives allowed if I'm the one doing the comp. Not because I dont want it "handed to me",because I think 2 wheel drive vehicles get OHV areas closed.
BTW if you think you can hand it to me on my terms you got a deal.I pick the place and you bring my money:D
