I have been running a F250 Dana 44 for a while now and I recently got a dana 60 its a chevy kingpin dana 60.

I am looking for pics of cherokees with a chevy 60 front and the way they ran there links and the spring buckets etc. Just looking for ideas for my new winter project.

chevy= pasenger drop

I was running a ford dana 44 with a flipped dana 300 so I have the dana 300 already

Unless you find a way to flip TC, You will need a drivers drop (Ford)....

Are you looking to do a 3 link or a 4 link? 3 link shouldn't be too difficult to fab up, but a 4... I dunno how tough that would be.

ya I am going with a three link with a panhard so I will be running my lowers that I have then Ill make a custom upper with hiems of my cross member to the axle

It came from Dana that way. It is a Chevy 60hd center chunk, Chevy kingpin outers and brakes and 35 spline Chevy length shafts. It was under a 4x4 Ford ambulance conversion. I am assuming the company doing the conversions just ordered a bunch of them from Dana that way. Worked out good for me:)

:laughing::laughing: well u "could" make it a drivers drop but no high pin and.. Well u should not waste your time and money..

What u should do it find a high pin king pin Dana 60 from from a ford 70's-80's.. So don't put Money in the 44 and find a ford drives drop 44/60 (if u find a 44 make sure the passenger side is a flat top)

thanks i know i need a 60 its just not the easiest axle to find and when u do they are outrageous.

Keep looking. The last 2 I acquired were $400 flat and $218. Both complete units. Deals are there, just gotta find em. And dont be affraid to offer a guy with a 60, much lower than he asks. The guy I bought mine from started at $1200. I paid....$400. :D

When I started researching chevy 60's I heard that you couldn't have upright coils. After finding Tim's build (again) I'm probably going to try to snag a cucv 60 again.

i have a chevy 60 , running 231/300 unflipped doubler, 3 link with panhard. i will take some pics when i get a chance. for the price of a ford 60 and flipp kit and dicking with shifters and what not, i got a chevy 60 and a doubler setup, works great.

i had access to cheap cucv axles. i had thought about going that route..

sorry to dig up the dead here/ hi-jack a thread, but this is seems like the only thread that has a chance of answering my question. will the dana 300 mount up to an auto trans on a 98 grand cherokee straight 6? i got a set of old dodge axles real cheap, only thing is its pass side diff. so if anyone could help me out its much appreciated

And no.... It won't... The 46re is the shittyest trans in earth so nobody even bothers building adapters for them... An AW4 will bolt to your engine though... Found only in 93 ZJs and all 4.0 auto MJs and XJs...

You could always build a doubler and adapt the d300 onto whatever shitbox case you have now
