Long time reader first time posting...
I can get a free set of axles, but I can't find any info about them and wondering if you guys can help me out.
I got a Dana 44 and a 9" from a 76 F-100. I need to know what width they are as I am going to plant them under my TJ. Also, if anyone knows what splines would be helpfull too. Im debating to run them full width or to cut them down in my TJ, but Im basically poor and can't afford to have them cut down. But if they are close to my TJ stock width, I will leave them full width.

From a 4x4 they would be pretty wide but I'm not sure of the exact dimensions. Brobably about 68-70" WMS to WMS
Rear would be big bearing 31 spline, front inners normal D44 30 spline, stub shafts 19 spline with 297 ujoints.

They should be about 65" WMS-WMS since I have one laying in the backyard right now. From what I have been told the 9" from that truck would be small bearing and 28 spline. I got my 9" from an 81 F100 and it was 31 spline, big bearing, which went against everything everyone told me. But I didn't know that until I pulled it apart. So, you may get lucky and get a big bearing, 31 spline axle, but you will maore than likely have to pull it apart to see. Not sure about the spline count on the front, but it should be about 65" WMS-WMS as well. The 3/4 ton trucks are about 67" and I think 1-ton are about 69", FYI. Here are the measurements for the bearings on hte 9" just in case you are interested:

Fer christs sake this again:rolleyes:
Rog when are you going to put a sticky up that tells everbody to go out and measure their width. I'll even volunteer to put it all to together so you can stick it in the bible so all teh Jeepers can go over there.
Jeepein,
don't know about a 76 but my 77 f150 is 65.5" iirc

I guess it's just a Jeep thing.
Mike I haven't forgotten about that output shaft either. I promised Quinn I'd get him a couple of adapters to SOB too and I have to take them apart and I'll get to your output shaft then. I'm just slow. Sorry.:(

Iv'e been waiting for you to be in a good mood before I reminded you, what's it been 3 months now? :flipoff2:
:) No worries mine hasn't broken yet and I've got no serious wheelin planned until after SOB. I really just need to make it thought this winter. After watching Tom H. put his Atlas in front wheel drive and drag his front end all over the place I'm hell bent on getting an Atlas.

I love mine, would never be without one again. Are you going to SOB? It's only a long day. Get and a bunch of the Bay area EB owners and get a caravan headed North. I think Mark is coming anyway.

I am posting this because I didnt get the axles yet. I wanted to know the measurements to see if they would work for my application before I drove 8 hours one way to go and torch axles out of a truck. It's far but worth it when they are 'Free'.
I posted here becuase I figured I could get the best/most reliable info
For those of you who provided the info I was looking for....Thanks.
