I may need to run a different steering box on my 1997 D90 due to clearance issues with the new engine.
I do plan/want to run a ram assist once I do an axle swap next year.
I have read about a Bronco/Saginaw, but that it mounts on the outside of the frame? Doesnt that reduce tire clearance?
Can anyone tell me what choices I have?
Also, what is the general consensus for a HO PS pump? Howe? PSC? AGR?
Howe states their stuff is for offroad only, where AGR obviously makes street stuff. But I didnt think they were all that great (going back a few years though)
I plan to also run hydroboost, so the pump needs to handle the steering, hydroboost and ram assist.
Thanks!

I believe that it really depends on the size tires and the type of wheeling you are going to do.
I run a 40 nch tires and do a alot of rock crawling.
I had a Howe system with a reverse rotation steering box and ram assist. I broke the steering box after 5 times wheeling.
IMO i do not recommend Howe. they are more expensive than the rest and the product is about the same
I recommend PSC. they are very helpful with designing a system for the type of wheeling that a person plans to do.
I also recommend using a fluid cooler of some type on any system you put on.

I've been running a PSC-p-pump, a PSC reservoir, a B&M cooler with hydroboost and hydro assist for a while. everything works fine.
when I was using a TC pump in the same system it was nothing but trouble.
both with a rover steering box.,
YMMV

Not being sarcastic (yet), but doesn't it mount at the end of the steering shaft? I mean you could mount it in or out, but you have to get the shaft routed to it. I would think the easiest place to mount it would be where the original one was mounted, or nearby.
Maybe I'm not understanding some other factor(s) :homer:

I'd consider one of the forward facing pitman armed Toyota boxes. FJ60 and FJ80 I believe.

Have you decided what size tires you will run? If you still plan on driving your D90 across the country at times, your tire size isn't going to be 37 or above, and you don't mostly wheel in rocks I'd seriously consider not running the ram assist. That doesn't address your box question, but is my experience; my system may never have been dialed in perfectly on my d90 but was twitchy at speed on the road with the hydro assist (at that point I didn't care about road manners at speed). I might wait and see how the install goes with the engine before making big changes to the steering. FWIW I've had good expriences with PSC products on my D90 and Howe products on my buggy.
Give us some details on the engine/drivetrain.
