My wife just got a new remote for her 4Runner and the instructions to program it say to press a button on the security computer module and hold it for 3 seconds. There is a drawing of what the security module looks like - a small box with a couple of wire bundles going into it. The instructions say that the location of this box may vary with model year but they don't give any hints on where to look. I've looked under the dash, under the hood and under the seats.

Do any of you know where this security module thing is located? It is for a 98 4Runner.

remove all the interior, and look to the left of the rear seat. there will be a little black box that says do not open, open it and look inside, you will then find a key with weird leters cut into it, that key will open another secret box under the passenger seat that will have a little piece of paper that says "your quest will end inside the drivers side kick panel":flipoff2: :trooper:
