I am so close, just gotta secure the hood, run a line for my air tank gauge, weld a tab for the fitting, and screw the air/arb switch panel down. Not gonna sweat the body panels till later, but I did pick up some thin poly (thanks rugburn) to cut them from.

Did get the hood painted and mounted, but not till after dark. If it's clear in the morning before I go to work I may roll it out and snap a few shots.

Hearing from you all is the "icing on the cake". Thanks! Wonder if my "lurking homeboys" are following along?

The cowl was cut off at the bottom, and is mounted to the cage at the top/front and welded to the bars under the floor. I was surprised when I saw the reading from the scale at 3280, which is less than Troy's Campbell, and modestly heavier than Robbie's diesel sami. The last time I drove it, I flopped it on the final obstacle at Erocc's. So when I fired it up last nite and let it run for a while, to clear the oil from the cylinders, smokes like crazy for 15 minutes! I was dumbfounded when I revved it up and the whole tub torque flexed, I mean like it had power! It needed this diet!

Max, with the covers I find them comfortable, and supportive. I only wheel this thing so never in them that long. I do have to remove my wallet or my ass gets sore, but otherwise they fit me nicely. The price is the selling point, and they have a choice of colors.

Nolan, the pics are with the 37"s. The 35"'s are currently on black MRT's with the stock steel lock ring. New custom aluminum lock rings are in the works for them right now.

Looks killer Mike!

I am interested to hear what you plan to use for side panels, and to see it with them on. Trying to contemplate myself if I will be running rear panels on the tube chassis mini truck.

Looks baadassssssssss................................... ..............OH, wait everyone else said that.

I am going to give you shit for welding tabs on your air tank so you could mount it. (Boy, I hope those tabs werent on there before or I will feel like an asshole). Still looks good, cant wait to see you wheel. I thought you were going to do green on the tube?????? Chicken :flipoff2:

My shit isnt as cool as yours, but I almost have the EFI done, the O2 bung needs to be welded and the fuel pump needs plumbed and wired, then I am done. I did finally put power on the toyota electrics and, holy shit, most of it works. I have some lighting issues to workon, but shit, she is almost ready to start.

As light as that thing is, you will not be breaking shit like you were, that's for sure.

If you get tired of playing in the Legends class, you will be able to clear larger tires for sure.

You need to do some fit-testing with some 42's :D

MrMcgee, those are the same seats that I have and I use my 40 as a DD when its not in the shop:rolleyes:, and their real comfortable for a hink of plastic. I just glued some foam padding on the seat before I put the cover on them...

It worked better than I expected! Very stable on off cambers, climbs great, and no axle breakage! Rear flexs so much better, installed the bilsteins on the rear when I got there. These shocks are very well built and have a heavy duty body! Only problem was a broken front main leaf spring.

I suck at posing for pics on my wheeling time, so here's what I got.

Mike I certainly hope you won't get offended if a couple of semi sober Texicans just steel the fawk out of your design and copy it...........
Looks great, and the real beauty is that you could build it from a frame, & firewall, which I happen to have one of!!!!!!

Offended, hell no! I'm glad it came out as good as it did.

Nolen, I do like the SO, it isn't near as unstable as the Cruiser buddies I wheel with. Or maybe I it's me, not to dis them but off cambers don't give me the willy nillies like it does them. Always thought it was there SO's.

I'm doing the front soon. Gotta rid the frame of the MAF shackle reversal that even though it's the new design, hits anything big. I was concerned about the knuckle studs, but you guys convinced me that keeping them tight would be enough.

Will I need a trac bar in the front also? I notice most don't run them, but with bigger meats and comp courses, I'm thinking I will.

Mike I think we will steal from you, and this rig, Forrest ?? don't remember his last name, he's from Ak. and won best Cruiser at GSMTR in 01 had a whole bunch of innovative yet simple mods on it. I have some closer shots of it somewhere, but could not locate them right now.

Forest Lovett maybe? We wheeled with him some this year at GSMTR. We ran into you guys the year before on Slickrock when we waited on the broke junk, then Rainey rolled out before the rain came. Actaully we were directly behind you all, Jeff, Kristy, you and the other big fellow in the white 80. Some winched over it, the rest gave a tow to Guy Hinton with a broken rear pinion.

Next time we hook up, it'll be for  and some Nolan stories!

Heck, it's a shame I did not know you via the net at the time, however that trip was very hectic, we spent almost every waking hour either wheelin' our wrenchin' I missed the Pot luck, and saw very few Internet buddies. I made a direct effort at Moab, not to do that, and spent a couple of days just BS'n around.
Rollin around Tellico in Rainey's old truck was kinda like driving round in a Legend, so that was kinda cool......I got some good video of Bam Bam walking an unsuccessful wheely (broke) on Lower #3, then Kristie doing the same thing and climbing it.
