Situation:A 65" wide track j10 axle (with the stock jeep outers, 6 on 5.5), and wants to match to a 65" Ford 9" (5 on 5.5). When trying to swap 5.5 ford rotors onto a chevy/jeep style knuckle u must swap the spindle as well, correct? I assume that meens the stub needs changed as well??? Will the width be affected??? (as I know 8 lug rotor/bearing assemblies will be 1" wider each side)

If you're REALLY worried about it you could just redrill the hub and rotor

I believe swapping to the 5 lug outers will move you out 1/2"-1" in additional width.

But shafts stay the same for the setup - no need to swap them.

WRONG. going from 6 lug outers to 5 lug outers will DECREASE the oaw of the axle assy. by 1" per side.

So the question is with the two above posts contradicting each other..... Who do you trust most. :flipoff2: I personally think that if you are within two inches you are good to go anyway. Besides if you are wider in the front you can turn sharper.
