: New ohv park in Liberty S.C. Broke Ground Nov 18th 2008
jck_motorsports 12-07-2008, 08:37 PM Hello my name is Joe I am playing a roll in this park but I am not the owner of this leased land this land belongs to the Barlett bros now. Ground Breaking started Nov 18th and have been wide open since I personally painted the building/ office/ concession are. The parking lot has been cleared and entrance road has been smoothed but tore up again due to the rain. We have a track hoe and 2 bobcats atvs and rhinos tractors and tons of chain saws on the land now. Trails are being cut as I type. I also personally took gps locations and transfered them to google earth to show trails that are there or cut in. We are praying on Jan 1st 2009 to be the Pre Grand opening pending volunteers. Because this trail is new the cost will only be 15.00 and is subject to change. All guest / passengers will be 5.00 kids under 12 free. The first trail cut was tested buy locked cj but broke u joint. Not due to trail we think but worn out lol. I will give more info as I get it or see for my own eyes. If you have any questions feel free

snobrder 12-29-2008, 06:57 AM Updates???
Cj104 12-30-2008, 06:40 AM From what I've gathered there is work being done on these trails every day. They don't know how many trails they have because they haven't finished cutting them yet. It was said that there will be a camping area and a refreshment/food area. As for location, all I know is that it borders the airport in Liberty, which is down the road from the DNR gun range. About 25 min from downtown Greenville; about 20 minutes from Clemson.
burrellsjeep 12-30-2008, 08:21 AM Here is a Photo of the area

trailtoy83 01-06-2009, 06:01 PM As of right now the park was not officially open, but they are working on trails daily. If you volunteer up there on the weekends they do ride after working on trails.
corbyzz 01-07-2009, 08:55 AM I know of some guys that went up last weekend, but no reports yet. I thought the park was in Pickens not Liberty. Can we get some exact directions?

themanfromghs612 01-07-2009, 02:20 PM The area is similar to Glches OHV but MUCH MUCH bigger.
I went down for a work day, VERY PROMISING

Cj104 01-09-2009, 10:46 AM They're doing a workday tomorrow. Just show up and help clear some trails and you get to ride around, too. The park is in Liberty, which is Pickens county.
burrellsjeep 01-09-2009, 01:45 PM How are we supposed to help if no one is willing to tell us how to get there? I understand it is in pickins county but where?

Skerb 01-11-2009, 03:07 PM I could give directions to the park as we have been out there many times helping to cut trails through our club. There is a ton of work to be done still and they are out there every day. They are looking for volunteers, our club was out there about 20 strong yesterday getting some work done.
I will try to post here the next time they go out there I usually just post it on our local board usjeeps.com
The area is owned by three brothers who are doing their best to organize but there is alot of stuff to. What they really need is volunteers who will help cut trails and build bridges/ fences. They have alot of people just riding out there for free right now, but they need some help trail building.
If anyone wants contact info for the park pm me as I dont want to just paste his phone number all over the internet.

Any pics of the trails or obstacles?
snobrder 07-06-2009, 08:45 AM Kinda like Gulches was when it first opened. Can't say I'd go back if it rained recently as the place would be pretty sloppy. Had some pretty big mud holes as it was. Spent about 3 hrs cruising around checking it out. Lots of nice gullies with climbs to play on. We didn't get to see it all but what we saw was nice. They even had a cool little obstacle course right where you sign up at.
If you look on youtube for rices creek off road you can see some videos.
discjoki 09-22-2009, 06:54 AM Not to hijack or anything...if anyone is looking to ride, we have a group of guys that gets together every Friday and Saturday night, and most Sunday afternoons to ride somewhere in the GSP area...including this place (Rice's Creek) We are not a club, we don't have dues, it's just a bunch of people with similar interests helping each other out on trails. If anyone would like to ride on a more regular basis, contact me. discjoki@yahoo.com

So does anyone know what the deal is with this place? I have been twice now, but the last few times I talked to Jason Bartlett(the owner/operator) he says he is waiting on a permit from the county? Any news?
custom01 02-07-2010, 10:59 AM I am in the Greenville SC area for the month of March. Would like to bring my rig to wheel a little. Have never been to Gulches or this place would it be worth my time to bring my rig. If anyone is riding in march would you care to have a tag along
