Fri. & Sat: Christmas Parties w/ too much food....

Sun: Wheeling in the rain and mud with Binderbound. Kind of like the old days - no big groups, no club, no people, hell we only saw like 6 motorcycles the whole day... :smokin:

Shot some video of Binderbound not making a climb I didn't even try:

Sat-Pulled the T90A-1 out of my FIL's Willys and went to put the replacement in that my FIL bought. Yeah too bad it is not a T90A-1 :mad3: After cleaning both cases I found a BOM and MFG date of 8-23-73 on the unknown case and popped it open to confirm it as a 4 speed. So called the FIL and let him know he was swindled, buttoned up the Willys and tinkered with my Scout. I was hoping to be done with this SAT to go back to my Scout :mad3:

If anybody has a good T90A-1 let me know before I start gathering parts to rebuild this thing.

Sunday moved the Willys out of the garage and tarped it then moved the old project Scout800 to the garage to pull the engine and cut up the rest for scrap. Moved my nephew's ScoutII to the back and played WOW like the gamer fag I am :grinpimp:

Looks like good times wheeling:smokin:

Went to Jeff's holiday party at his new place. Had a good time eating lots of food and talking with everyone. Got to meet Paul as he was picking up his Scout from Jeff. Nice guy.

Got most of my Dana 60 put back together. The axle is back under the Scout, the ARB, Gears, and knuckles are all done. Still waiting on my outer shafts.

Did you end up making that case spreader? Just curious how it worked out if you did. I still haven't used mine yet:shaking:

I never did:( Push came to shove, and I needed clean the housing so just feed a chain through the carrier and with a block of wood on the housing and a cheater bar, I just popped it out. It was a lot easier once the axle was out of the Scout. Since I'm working two jobs, I paid $250 to have the gears and ARB installed. Plus if any warranty issues come up at least the shop can deal with ARB. That's how I got the axle back under there so fast.:D But without the stub shafts its a mute point, hopfully they will arrive this week.

I wheeled.. a little.. with my 2 yr old and 7+month pregnant wife to go fetch a Christmas Tree.

Here's Todd with his old Scout (now mine) in the background with the tree on top.

It was Todd's first trip out with the club in his new-to-him Traveler after building it - the old yellow half-cab just wasn't cutting it with a wife n' two kids, so he opted for a Traveler out of California instead.

SOA, 4.88, lockers F&R, Warn FF out back, 392/727, 36" Iroks on H1s.

Todd made a snowman while we chowed on chili and cornbread and other goodies.. nice, unusually warm winter's day.. 50+ deg.

Only one real bummer.. Chris, in his 2dr Explorer, got a no-flaps ticket on the way to our meeting place. $60 and 2 points they claim.

He just finished a 78/79 solid axle swap under the Exploder, and the 37s *are* only half under the body...

Oh yeah.. first time I got to use my 2M Ham radio on the trail. Oakley in the Rubicon got his ticket a little over a month ago, so when the CBs ran out of range between our two groups, we were still in contact on 2M FM.

About time, was wondering when that would happen, been meaning to drop you a line and harass you.

Nothing IH related, heck I still can't even THINK about getting anything in my side of the garage yet.... for me, thats unacceptable to have that much house crap stacked up in the garage. It will be gone through soon.

Ran errands with the fam, worked in the yard (including cleaning the shed, which is IH content, moved the (2) IH 5-speeds around :D) and started with lights. The tree made it up finely however, and as of last night is lit with its first ornament (courtesy of my daughter).

Did get to watch Iron Man on my new TV and Surround last night however... coool. Need to tweak the sound, and I wish I got the Blue Ray version... o-well, next time.

Drove up to Billings Montana to drop off Toms 345/392 for his racer project and picked up a bunch of IH stuff from JetFxr (Robert), got a 1935/36 C-1 pickup, a really nice Scout 2 tub, rebuilt 5-speed and a bunch of other stuff. It was a good weekend but one heck of a long drive.

So whats this mystery truck project I am hearing rumors about:p

Ugly how is the ram assist working?

It's a phantom project at this point that doesn't even exist. More of a mental project to give me something to do instead of working on what I should be working on. :homer:

I was going to cut some steel and truss my rear axle, but unfortunately the guy witht he plasma was out of town and I got nothing done. I'll be driving by another friend's shop tomorrow, and I'll try to stop in and buy some tabs and cut my steel while I'm there.

Ugly how is the ram assist working?

Works great -- took a few minutes to get used to it when driving at speed. You can't turn the wheel too fast or the ram lags a touch behind. I also lost a touch of turning radius. I basically had no steering stops before as my tires never get close to the springs, the box was the limit - but now the ram runs out of travel before the box. But an 8" ram would have been too much travel... What do I know...

At one point I was hung up on a rock pointing downhill and needed to turn my wheels the opposite way and back up, it was sweet. It would have been nearly impossible with stock steering. Binderbound said "I hate you!" and I offered him the Pirate symbol for peace :flipoff2:

That reminds me -- Tech question....

Ran up to BTF for a few hours for "FAB STOCK," talked to soilantgreen and some other guys. The proposed "Hi My Name is (screenname)" nametags would have been a big help.
Spent the rest of the weekend christamas shopping.

I am driving the tow rig for the next couple of weeks.

I enjoyed sitting a lot in a dimly lit room for the rest of the weekend.

Actually fired up the scout for the first time in too long. Backed it out of it's parking spot and over next to my tow rig DD, pulled the tool box out of the scout and integrated it into the elevated bed that I built for a three week trip to baja with the dd. Picked up some car camping stuff from wal-mart:evil:
Built a chicken coop for the four chickens that my buddy has inadvertently adopted. Drank some home brew and hung out with some friends who rolled back into down after a week in death valley training fire crews.

You got the world by the tail -- quit your bitching. :flipoff2:

The tow rig is probably way cooler than the DD, I'm sure. Hopefully it will crap out and you will have to drive the Scout to work, that would be the coolest :grinpimp:

Did you get any on your hootus? <---- classic thread reference :lmao:

That shit truely is vicious and nasty stuff to work with. I remember when I did mine out in the driveway and still ended up higher than damn kite! Followed by the massive headache from huffing all those xylene fumes.

Did you roll it on, or did you use a gun to spray it on?

Searched for the hootus thread, yeouch :homer:

I just wore some HOS gloves and kept most of it off. Yet... I now have a small "rug" burn on my wrist trying to remove that shat :shaking:

Did it outside under the carport during 3 different nights. Still within the "working" temp of that sticky stuff. No migranes this time around. Used the 2" brush for corners and trim, then roller/brush combo.

Do not under any circumstance Herculiner your door pannels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did the entire inside of my Scout like 5 years ago and that stuff will piss youoff everytime you roll your window up/down by removing the skin on your knuckels!

I repeat do not bedline your inner door pannels...just paint them black to match. Also spray some black or clear over the Herculiner or it will start to turn white next year.

I think ugly pretty much covered my weekend. Minimal carnage. More HP and wheel speed would have helped a lot, but thats why I dont break anything now. I kind of like being able to wheel weekend after weekend with only maintenance issues to deal with:flipoff2:

Diesel- I still call BS on you budgetary woes. You make $5 more an hour than me, have $1000 a month less bills than I do, and have an old lady with a decent job. For the $$ you make....Your diesel should be done, the pickup should be bomb proof, and you should be wheeling Rockscout every chance you get. :shaking::flipoff2::mr-t:
