will a 87 22re w56 tranny work with my 82 toy with a 22r? i know that the 85 tranny will with the crossmember being bumped back a little is it the same with the 87 22re though? want to go to the efi trans for it is suposedly stronger

yes it will work, you just have to move your cross member. You might also have to grind the back splines off the t-case depending on the year of it.

Ah second that...I am doing the exact same thing to my '81. I've had the stock L-45 tranny repaired/overhauled twice now, so I'm done throwing dollars at it. The W-56 will give you a better front driveshaft length and angle with its longer case length. I went with a Front Range Off Road crossmember and skidplate. Good stuff, plus Brian is super nice to deal with. Kudos.

I'm running a 90 W56 in my 83. All you have to do is rotate the crossmember (skid plate will be under exhaust) the bolts will line up with the two rear mounting area's.:D
