i think there's a little too much bitching here. none of us are entitled to a free driveshaft. i agree it's frustrating that someone comes here just to win the shaft and takes it from someone who might be a more valuable member, but that's not the point of the giveaway. The point is that jess is a top-notch vender who's trying to have something fun for us and help people out. That being said i REALLY hope this guy doesn't find this thread.

OK, I don't mind not getting the driveshaft ... I'm buying mine from Jess even if I don't ever win. But there should be some kind of rule about newbies. Maybe not even 100 posts or something. Make a new ranking. Super-Newbie, or something. Let them drop it when they get to 25 posts or thereabouts. That would encourage newbies to participate in conversation at least a little, put their $.02 in, and not sign on just for the driveshaft. (It seems like the number of people posting for the drawing every time is also increasing every time.) It would also prevent people from signing up for multiple screen names. I don't see what prevents me from signing up for a bunch of other names other than honesty. And while I am honest, it seems like a newbie is always winning. And, no offense guys, but I know just from meeting people in real life from the board that we ain't no flock of angels. Might even put a small dent in the bandwidth problem by not having so many new people signing on all the time. Just my $0.02.

On another note, Jess, I love you in the most hetero way possible. :) We all appreciate what you do for this board and those not on it. (And those just joining.) I will always support you in all ways that I can for as long as I live or as long as you are in business. Thanks.

To the others: Have you ever thought about the fact that with such a wealth of information and the ever-present "DO THE FAWKIN' SEARCH :flipoff2: NEWBIE!!!!" that individuals might not post much because 1. They did the search and found hours of information that more than answered their question.(The members of this board should be proud of this)

2. They are afraid to post due to ignoramous flamers(which I have been known to be) and not wanting to appear/feel/seem stupid.

I think it's great that Jess is giving the driveline to him. It shows us all that the thing is'nt rigged as so many things in life are.

At some point, that newbie rant up there mentioned something about being here to contribute and share knowledge. I happened to glance over and notice that his post-count is 7. I'm sure a lot of knowledge was contributed in those 6 posts that he wasn't ranting about this topic.

Point being: If you're not contributing, you do not deserve the driveline, IMO. You wouldn't find me walking into your home and eating your food unless I knew you and felt welcome enough to do so. Moreso, you wouldn't give your food to me over someone you knew.

Winning the driveline is NOT a right. Jess can choose who he gives it to. I respect his choice, too. But, IMO, the veterans deserve it more.

Finally, another point that I find interresting is that, if all you newbies lurk so much, why haven't you ever entered the drawing before? Maybe that's where all 6 of that one's posts are at, I'll have to check. But it's an interresting point.

I signed up knowing the driveline was being given away.. But it IS NOT why i joined. My luck runs towards being hit by a flying driveline that suddenly was thrown off a vehicle at 70 mphs' not winning one hehe.

I came here because my other hobbies need to take a backseat to the jeep hobby and I'm always willing to share if I can and speak up when I need help. The new guy happens to be balls deep in a complete new drivetrain and could use your help not your harrassment. he came here because what i do know about jeeps wasn't enough for him to continue doing his project without outside help.. when I am at 1000 posts my thoughts on this matter will not change post counts don't mean jack other than you haven't got enough of a life away from your computer. Now that being said I do hope to be a continual contributing member but as I said far more internal knowledge of jeeps and other 4x4 here than I have.. I run more to historical and specifics about my own I have a 75 jeep Cj6 In need of much more than some awesome driveline for sure.. hehe. I don't mind being flamed and I give as good as I get so fireaway.
