so i might be getting two new rovers...(new to me, a 63 and a 71). now for the question. how the hell do i unload my discovery. i really wanted to see that project through, but i have a habit of taking on way way too many projects. has roccia flares installed, three inch lift. 235 85 16 mud terrain tires from when i wanted to do something different with it (brand new). the interior is stripped, but i have everything. the headliner is recovered, looks sweet. both of the sun roofs are in working order. new rear floor, all rust repaired. i want to keep my diamond axles for the 71. so what do i do with the discovery. it runs great, has 100,000 on the clock. i thought for awhile it would be cool to go retro and put toyota leaves under it with the diamonds. still not opposed to that. i have a set of 34x10.5x15 ltb's that would go great with that combo. i paid close to five grand for it initially because it was in good shape and would have made a good daily driver. had i known i was going to do this much work, i would have bought one in horrible condition.
what says the masses?

I'll give you $500 for it, but you have to drop it in my driveway.

That sucks. I would usually say part it out, but there are a lot of cheap/free parts out there so even selling the bits is kinda lame and you won't get much on your investment. That D2 that Chicagodude was selling had thousands in upgrade parts, he's probably dumping it for pennies on the dollar.
I was looking at 96-97 Discos for plowing my road at 500$ - 1000$. Most of them are in pretty damn decent shape. One of them has dropped from 4K to 1K over the last three months. I think they are taking a bigger hit regionally here than other places, but I think the market is pretty much tanking.
Good time to get in, bad time to get out.

Scott Bowden is building a series hybrid based on a D2 frame. Maybe you could do the same with the frame/engine/motor etc and sell the bits left over. I dont think you could get much for it as it is. In my opinion the D1 or RRC makes a better donor though. I personally love my hybrid and it was a lot of fun building it. Mines based on a 89 RRC with a 73 body. Gordo

Park it in my neighborhood over night and you won't have to worry about getting rid of the T-case :lmao:
