I got a used 271 Transfer case today . It was a recalled item out of a 99 f350. I put new shift forks tabs in it, which is the reason for the recall. It wouldnt stay in gear.
Anyway, I would like to run this behind my 460/C6 combo, has anyone tried this? Is there an apapter?
Seems like a stout case...
Thanks, Chad

I guess those cases are supposed to be "hella" stout (as far as alloy cases go). I saw one at the 4X4 swap meet in Puyallup last year for sale, but too much $$$. Anyhow doesn't it use the same bolt pattern as the older Ford t-cases? If not the t-case adapter off an E4OD (or 4R100 or whatever they call it these days <might> bolt up to the back of a C-6 since they are based on the same design.

It is my understanding that all fullsize ford trannies use the same 31 spline output and same round bolt pattern. So it shoul djust bolt up.

Thought I would bring back a ten year old thread! haha
Thinking about swapping in a 205 behind my 4R100. Anyone know what the ratios are in the Ford 205 vs 271?
