I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Kawasaki Teryx Sport press intro this week near Phoenix.

The first night, Kawasaki gave a presentation will all the improvements for 2009. I was pretty familiar with everything mentioned from their press release a few months ago, but they also covered lots of other changes that I did not know about.

Beyond EFI and fuel gauge which we all know about, here are some of the other changes:

CVT Intake duct size increased from 53mm to 65mm
CVT Exhaust duct is 7.7" higher than 2008 models.
New aluminum CVT cover acts as heat sink for better CVT cooling.
CVT Retuned for hard acceleration shifting.
CVT Belt Protection System to avoid damaging belt when you have no traction.
Torsion bar has been revised for 2009 for better tracking through rough terrain. Inner and outer pipe diameters have been changed.
CV boots are now plastic for increased durabilty.
Drive shafts, U joints and axles - shaft diameters have been increased and splined area hardened.
Fuel capacity has decreased from 7.9 gallons to 7.4 gallons (due to sending unit and pump).
An additional disc has been added the the rear brake for additional braking power.
Rear mud guards have been revised to reduce the amount of water and mud that enter the area under the seats that house electronics and fuel tank.
Sport shocks have step-less preload adjustment.

I really liked how smooth the EFI was. Starting is a breeze too.

The 2009 Teryx 750 Sport is a nice ride for a UTV.

I got mine in Dec' 08 (2009 model) and I already have over 1600 miles on it.
The stock CVT belt is starting to wear (slip occassionally) now at only 1600 miles.

Kawasaki should use a better belt and clutch system like the aftermaket ones I will be looking into getting a new belt and clutch soon!
