Anyone care to make a recommendation for a starter RC 4x4 ?
Want to get my 6yo an electric 4x4, something I can buy extra batteries and a fast charger for.
1/10 scale or so,
durable or brand must have spare parts available to buy.
budget ? hard to say, my budget is greater than what the wife would like me to spend.

well its a 1/18th scale but the losi mrc is pretty good bang for the buck out of the box r/c.
cost around $250 after tax and comes with everything (batteries for the controller are included)

well if it is really for your kid I would get a wheely king, most kids like to go fast the things take a heck of a beating parts are cheap..
now if it is for the kid but you are gonna use it to, I would look at the axials..

i would buy a ax10 from trail-gear
Yeah, the AX10 RTR version is an amazing starting point. Once you're done bashing on it, lock the front axle with supplied locker, upgrade the plastic links and get some new tires and you should be at a respectable crawling start. It only gets worse from there. :D

i bought my 6 year old an rtr scorpion...i cant keep enough batteries charged when we go camping...kids love these things almost as much as adults:D:D
kids are kinda rough on stuff...id upgrade the shocks(hes blown 2, though they were easily rebuilt)) and the front steering servo(one down, two spares to go)accidentally hitting stuff at speed that youd normally crawl...

My vote goes for the Losi Mini Rock Crawler. I bought one a few weeks ago and it's more fun than my comp MOA 2.2 is. $250 + or - and it comes with everything you need to get crawling....

I bought the kid a 1/18 mrc for x-mas and I am having a hard time waiting to give it to her. Looks to be very well put together and a great way to spend more time with my little one.
