What type to run with a trail gear three link? IFS width with Elocker, and full float w/drive flanges.

For eLocker installation ease I say the TG axle with the eLocker plate or the diamond if they have an eLocker plate.
However I voted bacon because your really just comparing axles which will all act the same related to the 3 link suspension.
You made any more progress on that build?

MMmmmm.......bacon.
Get the TG 4 link and TG housing. The 4 link comes with a nice truss that fits the TG housing.
If you already have the 3 link or for some reason need it then it doesn't really matter but FWIW I have hammered my TG housing with no problems, never heard of another one breaking, and it's less expensive than other custom housings.:D

I voted bacon because it's breakfast time right now and I don't really have an educated opinion about the 3 link/housings.
Just being honest!

We have an elocker flange, have been doing those for several years now. We've building building housigs longer than every single one of our "competitors. We've also replaced all the others when they fail.
Cheap, like mcdonalds.... doesnt mean I want to eat that "cheeseburger"

does anyone have a link to the bacon rear end?
Just saying....I have a front diamond, just looking at a rear for now. I got all the parts and pieces for the three link and was wondering...
Is it worth it to beef up a stock housing?
A TG rear end for 399$?
Or diamond to match the uber cool front end and end all other axles for 900$?
Or can I get bye with a TG rear end?
Or a stocker with hella gussets?

I have trashed 2 different fully gusseted stock housings. I have no gussets on my TG housing and it is fine. I wish I could offer actual testimony on the Diamond housing but I have never owned one or wheeled with anyone that did. I am sure it is top quality as well. If money is no object then get a Diamond to match the front. If you want a little more ground clearence and more money left in your bank then get the TG. I don't think you really needed a poll to make this decision.

What is the typical damage seen on the factory axles? I have been beating mine for a year and so far so good. Unless I am overlooking something.
I would like to do front and rear axles before the next year comp season.
Brian, you need a set in the east coast F toy series! sponsorship / good deal / etc.
Mine bent every year, had to replace them often. They'd also always start leaking and the thirds would try and rip out of the housings.
Diamonds have laughed at everything I've done to them this season, and only had the rear diff start leaking out of one of the lower bolts right near the end of the season, caused by rocks smashing the bolts loose.

I had problems bending the axle tubes near the spring mounts, especially with inboarded springs.
It's not in the poll, but the Crossed Up housing is a great housing as well. http://www.crossedupoffroad.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29

Bent between the spring pirch and backing plate and cracked at the spring pirch. Leaking from sealing surface.

I didn't even know about the crossed up housings...but they don't say anything about an e-locker style.
So the stockers don't stand up, from what I have read. I am worried about the tubes because of the stress of welding on it.

Call and ask for Mike at Crossed Up and ask about the E-locker option. I bet he has it.

I was poking around on crossed up website...
The only thing that it seems that crossed up offers is 3/8ths, and you have to buy the ends on top of that.
Dollar for dollar it seems that the TG ugly rear end seems priced right for the same product. It will come down to difference of opinion.
It is nice to know about three different aftermarket companies to make a rear axle. Anyone else?

I wouldn't dare say they are the same product. All have different pros and cons. The poll is favoring the Diamond's, it is even beating Bacon and that's hard. I've wheeled my F-toy really hard for a year and a half and the only things that have stayed 100% throughout are the LC engine, the Marlin Tranny/T-case, and the Diamond axles. If you want the strongest and most proven, give Brian a call.
