Over the years I had had a few 83-91 Ford Rangers (like 12 or so)

I even bought this one, all done up cheep. Wheeled it to death. cut it up for parts, made money.

When I cut it up I saved the good stuff. The truck was built by a few different people going from the work types done. It had a 4.0V6, a 5 speed, Dana 30 Front axle. The door tag told the story it was a 85 2WD 2.0 5 speed when it left the factory.

So having parts from it and 2 or 3 other Rangers laying around. I got a deal on a 95 Ranger. Kid I know had wrecked it. Bought a XJ to replace it. The XJ was in desperate need of hub/unit bearings and axle joints. So I bought the parts in-trade for the Ranger.

This is what my parts got me:

I traded 2 wheels that had good tires for the guys old ones back and $20. sold two wheels to a buddy for $20. Sold the 2WD 5 speed for $175. So I have maybe $50 in the truck. Ill have nothing in it if the rear end sells.

I happen to have this laying around from my Orange Ranger:

Plus the radius arm mounts are wasted. The corss member for them looked like this:

the right rear leaf spring:

How the underside looks as of today:

The plan is to take the front Dana 30 and the rear that was under the orange truck. Make my own front spring mounts, have the axle fixed for the spring over so it will actually steer at over 5MPH on a hard surface. Put in a 85 ranger 2.3 4WD transmission & t case.

I'm going to build as low buck as possible with parts from our little salvage operation, a few from Jeep304 when I can get a killer deal, and save the money for a cage & safety harnesses. Not to mention Orange Paint :)
