OK, I put them in there, 608 in each tire (4 packs of 152)....didn't seem to help a lot, though it did tame it down a little at 45 mph.

Should I have used more? The tires are 38x12.50 TSL

That aint enuff.

750 is about 8ozs

I used 750 in each 36x12.50 TSL, and though it worked very well, i wish I'd used a little more. I'd put another 4 packs in each tire and go from there.

Don't listen to people who haven't tried it.

Just curious..I'm getting 38's SOON!....are you guys doing this IN ADDITION? to wheel weight?...or in place of.

I still think saying "I have mouse balls in my tires" would have a coolness factor all its own. ;)

Yeah and if you are complaining about them and they are still cold..well theres not much the BBs will do.

Must sound funky when ya stop.

Just fill the tires with water:flipoff2:

It might need more weight...

But, the thing is, no amount of weight will fix a tire that is not round or a wheel that is not round or a tire that has an excessive hard spot on it.

a good tire shop will first find the low spot on the wheel and the high spot or the hard spot on the tire and line these up to complement each other so the assembly is as round as can be.

If the wheel is too far out or the tire too far out there is not much you can do.

So, assume they are not lined up. Try unseating the tire and rotate it 180 degrees on the wheel, reseat it and see how it does.

find a shop with a Hunter 9700 balancer and ask them to match balance your tires! Don't let them patch balance....they will not hold if you air down your tires. The machine will find the heavy spot and the light spot of the tire/rim combo and show the tech just where to turn tire to! If you try this yourself and turn your tire 180* when you only needed to move it 10* or whatever than you are just wastin time. If your tires are O.O.R. than you need to have them "TRUED", this is what we do with OOR tires, it is actually shaving the high spot off of the tire and making it round. Sounds fucked up but does allow the tire to roll with almost no resistance! Less resistance....better ride quality! I run 38.5 SX's w/no weights or BB's, run slow and high speed with no vibs....maybe just got lucky! Of course..owning a tire shop, I have the availability to order as many tires as I want, pick the roundest and send the rest back!! You could always befriend a tire shop owner and hopefully he'd do the same for you....I have done this for some of my club members (not all) and it doesn't cost anything to send them back.
hope I helped you guys some....good luck

MJ - instead of traditional wheel weights - they get ripped off too easily.

Nobody's claiming this will make it ride like a radial...just greatly improves it. You're right - if it's badly OOR it won't help too much.

It's always going to ride like a bias swamper...but hopefully not like the worst ever!

As for the fancy balancing techniques (match/ patch etc) - pretty much a waste of time when you beat up the tread, chunk it, spin tire on rim a bit, beat up the rim, etc. etc. That's why I went with something dynamic - even though it's not perfect.

And anybody who pays someone to shave valuable tread off their new swampers in the name of pavement comfort is a crazy poseur IMHO :flipoff2:
