Lowes air compressors cheap

I just got back from Lowe's. I went there to by a CH 60 gallon air compressor, but.. All of their Kobalt air compressors were less than half off. The tool manager said they were made by Coleman who filed for bankruptcy. I got a 4.5 hp 80 gallon for 350 and a 60 gallon for 125.

Check you Lowes.

You got me excited there for a second. I called and was told $449 for the 60 Gal. :confused: I may check again later in the week.

Why would they have to sell them discounted. Lowes already bought them from Coleman right?

The manager told me they were discounted because Coleman might not be around for warrantee work. I got the 80gal moved into the shop today. Lord that thing was heavy. Now I need to run a new 220 line.

There's two Lowes here on either side of town and they're both still asking $449 for the 60 Gal, I'll keep my fingers crossed and call again later this week. I'm not waving the BS flag yet, but some photo evidence might help motivate me to remember to check the prices again later. Lowes doesn't list a 80 Gal on their website, at least not that I could find anywhere. I know that what's on line and what's in the store doesn't always match, but indulge me and post some pics :flipoff2:.

I bought a 60 gallon high output Kobalt compressor from them for $500 plus tax. So far it has been a great compressor.

man, i would love to score that 80 gallon kobalt for cheap. That is one great compressor...

From what I heard from where I work about Coleman they have been bought out (can't remember by whom) and the company that bought them out will not be covering the warranties of the Coleman compressors. This is second hand knowledge at least mind you.
