My ideas are based opon 8 years as an MP, and over 20 years of owning firarms and the study asociated with not only tactics, but gear managnet, war docrorine, and situational awareness. My opinions are highly respected in other forums and if you could stop gruntting for a moment and use your brains you might find there is some logic to my recomendations. I know as beer swilling neandertals your brains are not of much use to you anymore but do try to keep up. Perhaps my grammer is not perfect but since you fail to find any reasonable flaw in my logic your primate brains tell you to attack my grammer. Most of yours isnt much better I might add. If you do not belive what I am telling you simply take a peek at some real gun oreinted forums to discover what your missing out on. A wealth of knowlage is out there for you to discover on these same subjects and I think if you can get over your "who has the biggest dick" barriers then you might see that. I am correct. Mil, police, and civilians have differant needs in a pistol. Was I wrong about that? Was I wrong about the differances in reddines that all face? Mil guys just dont use pistols that often. But they do drill with them more then a typical civilian. They carry MBR's and Crew serv's. They just dont need them much. And when they are back at camp they pistol does need to be in a state of less prepared to comply with current millitary doctrine. And just before you head out. Dont you pretty much know your heading into a hostile area so as to place your weapons at a higher state of preparedness? More options for safe carry on mil service pistols reflect the different states of preparedness the soldier must observe. Thats how we did things. I am sur eothers with Militery expeiriance can tell you the same. As for the LEO's out there. Dont you have a less distinct line between enemy and freindly then the millitary? Cops have a decent idea when they are going into a bad situation, but shit happens fast so they need to get what is typically their sole sorce of protection faster and be better trained the most civilians, right? So dont they need a pistol with fewer dodads on it but enough to stay off the law suit crowds radar? In the case of civilians the sad truth is most rarely practice with their guns. Even most concealed carry guys rarely if ever practice draws, point shooting, defence technics, or even fire their gun more then a few times a year. They dont train for shit usually. This is componded by the fact that typically civilian attacks occur as a abush type asault propmting a weapon to be drawn in the first place. And usually at very very close range. Doesn't it stand to reason that civ's need a weapon that is simple and easy to use? Smaller then a service peice and less likely to get left behind because it was uncomfortable to wear under their clothes. WE have to conceal these things, remember. The weapons take more time to get out of where ever they are hidden under how many ever layers of clothes than an open carry service pistol would. So in the heat of it all, is it smart to have a bunch of safties and dodads to mess with only further delaying the time from percived threat to firing the first round? I think not.
