: Steering Issues

My steering is real lose after completing the SOA and shackle reversal. Before it was fine, if you hit bumps or anything it would just go over them. Now it has 37's and when it hits bumps it jumps one way or another, and uneven spots in the road are the worst. It will hit a spot and fly over into the grooves. Like I said, before it was perfectly fine. Any suggestions? Im tired of scaring the hell out of myself and the people passing me.

hows your castor? I drove 50 miles once with negative castor, way back when I was sprung under and thought longer shackles were cool....it was SCARY.
But, it taught me all about steering geometry, and now I have +5 degrees positive castor and I love it. drives straight as an arrow.
if you werent spring over, I'd be wondering about your draglink angle and bumpsteer, but you probably have a double steering arm, (right?) so that kinda cancels out the bumpsteer.
anyways, that's my guess.
cheers,
ryan

What caster are you running and what angle is your drag link at?

Check out the tread Titled something like my "Cruiser won't follow" its just a couple pages back, it gose over caster angles and I would be willing to bet money thats your problem try installing shims under the spring pad to see if that helps.

Fix these two things and you will be OK.

Are the nuts on the steering arm studs tight? Check these as well, cause they can loosen up...

Im caster angle is +3 or +5 one of those. I cant remember its been about 2 monthss since its been done and I havent driven it very much. All the bolts are tight and I do have a double steering arm. So whatever that makes the angle of the draglink then thats it cause I dont know. Thanks for all the info fellas.
