Is there such thing? I have a freind that claims he knows where there is one. He said that IH made some.

It's like a full size crew cab IH pickup. It was marketed towards people who towed campers, etc. Check out the thread on Tom M's Travelette that was recently hit. (sorry to bring it up Tom!)

Edit: And I believe the spelling, if you want to look it up on the web, was Travelette. :)

Not the same. This one has a uni body, it's like the travalall with no cut behind the rear door, it's kind of like that Avalanche that Chevy makes.

Good luck finding an orginal. 300 or so made.
I wouldn't cut up an original, but Sawzall+Travelall= Wagonmaster clone.

Actually, there is one sitting in Pick&Pull in Rancho Cordova, Ca.
It's mostly complete to boot.

I've thought about it.

Delete the rear gas tank that's in the quarter panel (along with spare tire storage) and move the axle back so you can fit the tires w/o cutting the doors.

It's 119" WB now, stretch it 10", maybe a little more..

Up front it's not too bad to open up the wheel wells.

Since it's a divorced NP205, you can pull whatever trans is in it (T98 or T19, or a 727 auto) and replace it with a Scout II variety - with a married transfer case.

Short body lift and/or BFH to the passenger floor and it'll fit.

Better yet, run a 727 with an NP231 left-drop and clock it down if you need to to clear.

Cheap dual-low.

HOWEVER.. I don't know about the 300 units on the WagonMaster like Matt said, but it wasn't high, and they're quite rare.

Pretty cool though. I almost bought a '73 3/4T 4x4 with a 392 and close T19.. neighbor stopped by Friday to mention he was thinking of selling it (to finance his 502 for his buggy).. I was loading up to go to a race.. came back, stopped by Tuesday to tell him I'd take it.. already SOLD. Drat.

Here's TheMick's roommate's WagonMaster at RMIHR last year..

It's his tow-rig, as well.. from this year.. during the great "tow Tom's Travelette into Town" project..

Here's another WM from Nationals in 1998

THIS is a Travelette -

Though IH did screw up their terms now and then in the sales literature in '74, calling the WagonMaster the Travelette with a 5' bonus-load box.

A little wider - it's a fullsize.

A bit longer.. it's 119" WB (19" more than a SII) and a bit more rear overhang.

Unless it's a 1974, in which case it has a 120" WB..

11" more overhang.
6" wider.
