What are the goods of this engine vs the tbi or tpi injected 5.7? Is it a good canidate for an offraod trail rig or buggy? About how much do they go for with the wiring harness and computer?

What are the goods of this engine vs the tbi or tpi injected 5.7? Is it a good canidate for an offraod trail rig or buggy? About how much do they go for with the wiring harness and computer?They have a lot of low end torque. The only problems are the intake and injectors they are not upgradeable. Water leaks on the intakes are a know problem.

I had one before I went Gen III and liked it because of the torque vs a 5.3L but I felt limited with it.

With the prices of 5.3L low and millons of aftermarket parts and support. I wouldn't buy one when you can get a 5.3L for CHEAP! Under 500 bucks. Swap it in and have 300+ HP. Then if that's not enough add some mods to it for even more. The a 6.0L will bolt right in its place.

I have one stock and I won't spend money on even headers for it. The stock manifolds flow like garbage but for what I can get an LQ4 for it just doesn't make sense to spend money on this thing in a 7200lb to be heavier truck.
