ok so i got this whole system for free from work, it hasnt been used in years and is just sitting in the shop so i was told i could have it. is it any good for a bender?? did a search, everybody seems to prefer the bigger setups for one shot 90s, but i didnt see anybody that actually used one and commented on it.

http://www.enerpac.com/en-US/node/491

the model i have is the PUJ 1200B, for those that dont want to go to the link the specs are: .5 hp, .5 gal, 10000psi max w/ 20 cu. in. per min at max psi

i have a cylinder with it as well, it is 2.375" od, 1.5" shaft and 14" stroke.

with no load it takes about 10 sec. for full extension, if that has any relevance. thanks for any help in advance.

Yeah, you can use the enerpac style rams are (used by JD2 and other DIY hydro conversions), but with only ~10"-14" stroke you just have to repin the die alot. That's why most guys use a longer ram.

yeah i knew the ram would work fine, i was more concerned with the pump.

i did a quick mount last night and i now know that this system works for bending tube. it is a little slow, probably comparable to a air/hydro setup, but dont need a compressor running all the time. it probably took about 2-3 mins for a 90, i have to repin twice, it gets to 90 at the second full extension but with the springback it needs a little more.

has anyone made longer bender arms to help the pump out a little?? if so how much longer would they need to be to see an actual result?? thanks guys.
