Well, I just got back from a week + worth of camping. Here is the long story for anyone interested. My bro is only there for a few days and he leaves his pair of Prarie 650's with me so I can play with them. I made sure it was cool with him to let other folks ride them and being the cool guy he is he said "yes". So, my buddy comes over and asks if he can ride one. Sure he can, so I give him the run down on the controls and tell him to go have fun. He asks if anyone else can ride it and I say sure as long as he gives them the run down. So, he rides it a bit and then passes it off to another guy (who is my room mate).

This other guy jumps on it and proceeds to hit a rock hard enough that it rips off the front skid plate, pops out the front drive line, pops the plastic loose, pops loose the gasket around the indicator panel, and it appears that he tweaked the front of the frame just behind the a arms abit.

Needless to say I feel like shit. My bro is being totally cool about the situation. My roommate is telling me that he will get it fixed. The real kicker is that the quad has something like 15 hrs on it.

Question #1
Do they straighten a quad frame? It is just barely tweaked. The frame is cheap ($600) but the labor cost would have to be insane to move everything to a new frame. Since it is still under factory warranty I have to image that if we did all the work that would cause issues.

Question #2
Can anyone recomend a kawasaki shop in the Tracy, Stockton, Modesto, East Bay area???

I'd just buy the new frame and swap the parts over yourself.
Make your roommate buy you lots of beer to help him.

As far as the dealer is concerned with the warranty and such. You should ask them about it, but it seems to me, it's just like replacing a spark plug or something. Why should it void any factory warranty? I mean if you can go to the dealer and buy a new spark plug and replace it yourself with out voiding anything. Then why should you have to pay $70.00/hour for shop labor to replace the frame?

Just my thoughts. HTH

Later.
