i have read about wristed arms that the ford guys are doing and it has given me a possible idea for a link setup for my next rig. would it not work the same if i built a ladder bar/ radius arm on one side and did a single link on the other? i know i will also need a panhard bar too.

Check out rockstompers rig "Mantis". That sounds exactly like his is setup. Seems to work great, too.

Rock Krawler's long arm kits work in much the same way. I think.

While it may not be the "best" set-up, I've been running it on my Jeep since 96. I got the idea from Soni on his Rock spider after seeing how well it worked (We used to ride a lot together before he moved to NM). It works well enough that I have not been motivated to change it to a double wishbone.
You've only got one arm taking all the torque so it better be stout. Hard braking will cause it to lift a little on the side with the fixed arm but you hardly notice it after a while. Good luck!
