i am planning on doin a lil heart transplant on the stock 350, i just had a couple questions:

1 whats the biggest cam i can run with the stock computer?

2. am i able to reuse the stock lifters being that they are roller?

3. will a 80mm throttle body help a lot or a little?

4. what are my options for reprogramming the computer

thanks any help appreciated

As far as a cam with the stock computer your best bet is to send a email to comp cams with what you have and what you want. As far as the tune just search there are a lot of posts on the computer issue.

mikeThe lift is limited by the heads more than the PCM. TB won't help much the intake is really poor. The intake spacer will (not a TB but intake)

I think 480 lift is the biggest cam the heads will take and that is pushing the stock springs alot....

No greater than 210 degrees of duration measured at .050, with no greater than .470 lift, and use a 112 degree lobe seperation angle and you will be fine. There's a lot of options for reprogramming the vortec. See http://www.carputing.com for more information.
Throttlebody won't shorten the intake runner length. This is what is determining that the motor is designed for lowend.
