OK. I'm new around here so i'll try not to ask too many dumb questions.:p

I have a 99 Ram 2500 v10 that has 48.000miles and so far so good. I've been reading up on all kinds of stories about the auto transmission problems that these models have and since i intend to modify my truck and run 40's on it i was wondering what aftermarket auto tranny can i match to that v10 and transfer case in order to have a long lasting good off-road machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My truck now sits on 38 TSL radials,4.88's, a Dick-Cepek long arm kit,3" body lift, Detroit locked rear.
I intend to add to it front 7" king coils,M12.000 up front and 9500 back, solid hub kit w 35spline outers and 35 inners from dynatrac, ox locker up front,an atlas 4.3:1 ,agr assist ,thuren cross over and 40" boggs. Hopefully i'll have it all done by this coming summer.

Just do a rebuild on your stock trans and use GOOD clutches and bands, add a trans-go shift kit, and you will be fine. I rebuilt the trans in my 99 this way, and added a HP torque converter from DACCO (Google them, they are a nationwide auto trans parts dealer) and all is good. This is the exact same trans they put behind the Cummins, except for valvebody and torque converter changes for the low RPM diesel. The V-10 does not beat up the trans anything like the Cummins, so it works much better in the Gasser. Check DTT, or the Goerend brothers for good quality cluches bands and seals.
