I got a Chevy 60 front.
What I want to do is move the chunk over to a few inches so I can pivot the housing up a little, and set the caster ~ 7* (is that correct?).
Now, if you can follow this:

Take the pinion angle measurement that I need.

Take the front 60, chop the "C" off the tube on the right side, and chop the chunk off the tube on the left side.

Now, take a rear 60 and chop the flange off the tube on the right side, and the chunk off the tube on the left side.

Add the pinion angle and the caster angles.

Cut the right tube on the rear chunk to the correct length, and place the "C" on the tube.

Cut the tube on the left "C" to the correct length, and place in the chunk.

Double check all measurements, then weld it all up.

DID that make sense? I does in my head, but that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot sometimes.

So, you are looking to rotate the pinion up and still keep it full width? Or narrow it some? Sorry, but I'm still on my first cup-o-joe and didn't understand what you are trying to do...

Are you trying to move the front diff housing toward the center of the vehicle so you can weld pads on the tube to set pinion angle, or are you narrowing the whole thing and for what do you need the rear tube? I've had four cans of coke already and I'm still confused.

I want to keep it full width and rotate the pinion up, with the pads on the tubes so the pig also moves over to the drivers side a little.

Not gonna happen...you can cut and turn the knuckles..but the spring pads are already set to YJ width..so if you move the cast side one out farther, your axle won't be even...make sense? Why not just cut and turn the knuckles...mill or grind the cast pad to the angle that you need, cut off the tube side pad and weld on a new pad at the correct angle and then ditch the two bolts and add a large u-bolt around the cast section instead?

Cutting the pad off the tube is no big deal. What I was thinking was moving the pig a little towards the center of the CJ so the right side spring would rest on a pad on the tube.

BUT, now that you reminded me I can get the pad machined (duh!) and use u-bolts, instead off the bolts on the pig, I think I am going to look into that. Of course that also means I have to outboard the springs.
