I was installing my inchworm last night and I had some trouble with the "coller" (connects the output shaft of the transmission to the input shaft of the T-case) on installation. I put the T-case up to the tranny and it would not slide on all the way. I have about 1/2 inch to go until the two surfaces come together and I don't want to suck it up with the bolts. Once I pulled the T-case back out, the "coller" stuck on the output shaft of the transmission. Jim is out of town, so I can't call him now.
I am installing an ichworm with a V6 adapter. Any help would be greatly apprectiated. I did a search with no results.
Thanks,
JW

Do not have Inchworm but when I put the Marlin one on I took a block of wood and a BFH and "seated" the collar on the tranny and then the T-case slid all the way in.:D

I just did this install last weekend and had the same issue.
You have to make sure the splines on the tcase shaft are lined up with the transmission. IE Take a ratchet strap, put a bar across the hole in the floor where the shifters are, ratchet up the t-case so it is suspended by the strap, and line it up. You have to make sure that the tcase and trans are at the same exact angle in order for it to go in smoothly. Once the angles are right, push from behind while turning the output flange on the back of the t-case. Jiggle and wiggle it and it will all of a sudden "POP" right into place like it did for me.
I installed the tranny and tcase seperately and believe it or not, the tranny was easier to get in!
Good luck!

Thanks for your input. I don't think that it is a matter of aligning the splines. I say that because the input shaft of the T-case does insert into the splines of the "coller" (keep in mind the coller is installed at this point), I am just about 3/8 short of having the T-case mate to the tranny. I have installed and removed the T-case six times now.
I am thinking that "Oops" had the same issue and has the resolution figured out. I just need to go and supply some gentle persuasion to the coller. Did yours have the V6 adapter as well?

After I posted my reply, I read your post again and realized that my answer was not going to solve the question. Anyway, I have no solution for you, and I do not have the V6 adapter. It seems to me that you should follow the path of OOPS and then GET IT.

Well, went home on friday and finished the install.
Just hit the "coller" with a rubber mallet and... problem solved. Thanks for your help, maybe this thread will help somone else in the future.
