I posted this in the Jeep section, but I ain't gettin any replies. Maybe the GURU's here can help
----------------------

I got a Chevy 60 front.
What I want to do is move the chunk over to a few inches so I can pivot the housing up a little, and set the caster ~ 7* (is that correct?).
Now, if you can follow this:

Take the pinion angle measurement that I need.

Take the front 60, chop the "C" off the tube on the right side, and chop the chunk off the tube on the left side.

Now, take a rear 60 and chop the flange off the tube on the right side, and the chunk off the tube on the left side.

Add the pinion angle and the caster angles.

Cut the right tube on the rear chunk to the correct length, and place the "C" on the tube.

Cut the tube on the left "C" to the correct length, and place in the chunk.

Double check all measurements, then weld it all up.

DID that make sense? I does in my head, but that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot sometimes.

So I can rotate the pinion up, and move it over a little towards the drivers side.
From what I gather, if I leave the pinion the way it is, and just outboard the springs, the pinion will be angled too low.
Also, I wnat to make sure the caster is set far enough to insure good driving characteristics on the highway.

or you could cut, sleave, turn and weld the 60

that is too much caster. Stock caser should be fine. If you want more (why??????????) shoot for 5 max.
