What has anyone done for the fuel return line on a sbc TPI to got into the stock tank. Was thinking off just putting a splice into the filler hose with a barb in it? Good idea or not?

Seems like a good idea to me.

I ran mine that way (to the smaller of the two hoses) with a T fitting. However the next time I can get the tank out, I'm going to install a fitting directly to the tank, and reinstall the correct filler hose

works just fine to the filler neck. Just make sure you have a properly vented tank though.
