Where in Montana are you headed? Check m4x4a.org and hook up there.

I see your from Bozeman,i spent a year around there in 2004.I worked in Yellowstone but the nearest town was Gardner. This time im headed up to Missoula, which i hear is not a good area for fourwheeling.

Ive tried m4x4a but it doesnt seem very update and sadly it seems they do most of their 'wheeling in Moab.

The missoula forum is about dead....the only club over there is a racing club and not a member of the state assn.

There is proubly a post over there once a day on average.... I don't know ware you get the idea we do all our wheeling in moab from? I only can remember two threads about moab trips in the past 6 months.

I try to get on there atleast once a day and post whatever is going on in the Bozeman area.

LOL. I do most of my wheelin' between Helena and Butte, or on a race track.

There's a club in Polson that's pretty active - they just don't always make a point of sharing about it on the website.

Would you believe not everyone with a 4x4 in Montana is particularly computer savvy? :D

There's good wheelin' around Philipsburg - if you look through the image galleries (http://www.m4x4a.org/index.php?module=mGallery2&g2_itemId=33049) you'll find plenty of wheelin' pics from PBurg - we had our Divide Ride trail ride there two years ago.

This year Divide Ride (http://www.m4x4a.org/divideride) is in Whitehall.

Most of us Billings Rimrockers spend our time in the Pryor's, Beartooth's and the Little Belts. Plenty of trails all over, we just have to use them wisely (alot of closer's going on here). PM me if you want info on going to a club meeting sometime. BTW, what do you drive? Jeremy

Last I knew Ross is in Pocatelo Idaho now. He was here in powell going to school then last summer he sold him yota and move to idaho to finish school. Haven't heard from him since.

I moved south of Missoula a year ago. Not much wheeling compared to Florence, table Mesa etc. I just sold my buggy because I would have to travel to far to find anything respectable. Building a scenery rider instead.

Hey any of you guys from Powell ever go up or down the Morrison Trail that runs between Clark Canyon and the Beartooth? I was hiking up the canyon this week and saw the start of that trail from the bottom end. The signs say it's closed 'till 15 July. Looks pretty challenging from a distance.

Dunno about the Powell guys, but the Billings clubs (along with the rest of M4x4A) have a work-party on that trail every year or two to do maintenance.

Checking in from the Flathead (we're one hour north of Polson).

No. Everything up this way sucks.

PM me for details.

You wouldn't move her for the wheelin', but it's not a desolate wasteland, either.

I've gone up the morison once. Went up line creek a couple months ago too. Hope to make a run again this year up there.

That's cool. Can a long wheel base rig make it up there. Say something like 109" wheel base narrow track with 35's or 36's.

I see a K5 Blazer in your signature line. Did you go up morrison in that?

I didn't have the k5 then but have gone up with a few fullsize rigs and also when they were building the switchback ranch a club cab ford went up it, that would be TIGHT transvers. One guy here will not back up the switchbacks and has to make like a 10 point turn around in his cj7 on each switchback.

I was born and raised on the Missoula side. (South of actually).
There used to be some great wheeling all up and down the Bitterroot until all the Califawkinfornians moved in and shut all the land down :shaking:
Magruder coridor used to be good, you can access that by heading down the Westfork. There are also a few spots on the east side in the Ambrose/3mile area. Nothing to make a full day of, but fun to check out none the less.

My club was out of the Post Falls/Spokane area, so we ended up doing a lot of traveling. But, a mere 2.5 hours out of Missoula puts you in some fantastic wheeling in the ID panhandle and eastern WA. There are some absolutely awesome trails up that way. You wont get bored.

Far as Billings and that part of the state, Benbo trail is a good one.

So, if I understand you right, the switchbacks are so tight that most of you go forward up one leg than backwards up the next leg etc..

If so, that's tighter than any switchbacks I've been on. I thought it looked tight but I was looking up from the bottom of the canyon.

I'm hoping Cascade has a rally over Labor Day.

Otherwise, the Mountain Jacks are racing this weekend, and there are two more races scheduled for Acton (outside Billings) for 7/21 and 9/15-16 IIRC.

Bozeman Mountaineers are planning a rock-crawl as part of their Top Truck event slated for... September, I think.

Not sure if/when Billings is planning their rock-crawl.

We did a demo rock crawl this past weekend during the monster truck show. We got almost more attention than the big beasts.

good stuff, the augest long is the run in milk river and a number of guys from great falls to havre and up into canada hit that one, um i think the conrad boys are having another one as well, also i'm pretty sure that there will be another out in cleveland, and i think they were talking last year during the event that the browning guys would do it again this year, as they had a pretty dang good pit and show last year.

The Bozeman Mudbog is on the 21st of July.

We should be having the top truck in Mid September this year...not sure exactly witch weekend.

I think the Billings rockcrawl is labor day weekend. But I haven't herd much about it this year other than a couple members saying that they are planning to have it again.
