Hey .
I've looked today on a dana 70 rear axle , and on the place where it was supposed to be the number 70 , i saw a rhombus with the word Dana inside what is that ?
Where can i find i.d guide for Dana axles ?

Well, if you know what a 60 looks like... The 70 uses the same diff cover, so the housing on the 70 will extend out past the cover.

look on the front of the pumpkin above the pinion. It may be cast in there. I had a 60hd that the number was cast there.

It will either be stamped next to inspection cover in one of the corners or it will be cast onto the housing on the backside where the drive shaft attaches.Usually on top.Beware not all 70's have 35 spline axles..Older models have 23 spline (inch and half) an dsome have 32 spline (which are smaller in diameter.).Good luck.

Go here & type in your Bill Of Material. It
will be located on the pass side rear of the
axle tube, not the cast housing.
