So why did you keep the top frame section?

What did you do about door handles? Do the doors still open?

Yeah, I like 'em. How do you like the way the flat surface angles up in back? What did you cover them with?

It may sound stupid, but I figure all the support I have just in case I do flip would be best.

What did you do about door handles? Do the doors still open?

If you notice the black piece of rod on back of door, I have it hooked to the original latch, and when I want to open the door, I just pull up on the latch. Open and shuts just like normal.

Yeah, I like 'em. How do you like the way the flat surface angles up in back? What did you cover them with?

I like it ok, although when I do lean out the door, my left arm does not rest evenly on top of the door. It doesn;t bother me though. I covered them with some automotive carpet from wal-mart.

Sweet - the color does match up perfect, and you DO need a fender

yea, they matched up great, thanks for the doors David....and yes, I do need a fender

Note, however, that this tree is quite thoruoughly dead.

TN85: Your Summertown pics are taken of a couple of my Memphis friends. The Green & White K5 and the Blue Jeep with the Yellow cage (He's a floridian, actually, but his brother lives here and he comes up quite a bit...)

why are you driving on trees? please remove those off the internet, the land grabbers have enough ammo, and I don't care if they are on pvt land, there is no need to run over on or up trees

Thanks for bringing attention to it:mad:

Seabass - shut the hell up already. Looks to me like that tree is in his yard or his property, and is DEAD, so there is no difference in driving over it when leaning at a 45 degree angle or if it was a LOG laying on the ground and he drove over it.

I understand your concern, but stop bending over backwards trying to cow-tow to the enviro-wacko's

I have been brainstormin' about a way to make/mount some sort of latch....I will have to look into the escort handle, looks neat and it apparently works.

Yeah, well just goes to show they are winning when we are forced to resort to bitching about running a tire up a DEAD TREE...

You TN boys have no Idea how evil the tree nazi's are here in Ca. They'ed probaly find some fucking rare bug in that dead tree and close down and take your property from you. You would get a huge fine plus maybe some jail time once they find some indangered frog dead 1/2 mile from that dead tree.

I agree with Seabass, we should't be giving them any ammo, dead tree or not. Plus the fact that there is not a noticable trail in the photo. I have seen photo's like this in public forums used againts us. ( Coastal Commision - Pismo Beach closure )

Are local trail was closed 3 years ago because there where too many jackasses driving off trail running over all the veggitation. This is the kind of shit we have to deal with when we try to keep trails open.

What would you recommend I do? Take an AK47 to the next town meeting? Are you calling me a pansy because I'm involved in trying to keep trails from being closed? Thanks bro..glad you appreciate all the time I have invested in fighting the treenazi's.

4 wheelers have gotten a bad name mostly due to lies from the Sierra Club. When someone goes of trail all the public knows is what they here from the biased media about us is true. The ball is in there court and we are fucked as it is. Imagine where we would be if that fag Gore had won the election.

Talk to anyone that is involved in Politics trying to keep our trails open, they feel the same way I do.

what noticeable trail......it is in the back lot of our property...no trails there. From the sound of it, I want to be careful when I mow my yard, might kill some grass......I guess I better watch out huh:rolleyes:

Damn, I just wanted to show off my doors and you guys had to make a big deal about me flexing up the side of a tree.....no one would have ever given it a second though until SOMEONE had to make light of it.

Well guess what guys...I AM NOT IN CALIFORNIA, I am in the great state of Tennessee, don't have to worry about all that BS here. So if I ever come to CA ( which I doubt I ever will) I will be sure to stay away from the trees.

don't get me wrong, I am all for protecting wildlife and keeping the environment clean, but - Give me a break guys SHEEESH!

Dude - I don't want to hear it. You already bent over and took it from them the day you started whining about a guy in HIS OWN YARD driving up a DEAD TREE (commonly known as DEADFALL, LOG, FIREWOOD).

Enjoy the pics of his nice new tube doors and grow a set will ya... :shaking:

I was going to stay out of this thread, but I can't since I spend countless hours a week fighting for YOUR rights to Public Land I have to say something. You're all right...

It's your property, you can do whatever the hell you want on it - but when that pic winds up in the SC's monthly newsletter with the caption "Reckless Four Wheelers Plowing over trees with their smog spewing, earth devasting trucks...." It's not going to matter where the fawk it is cause the damage will be done...

We need to police ourselves and think about how the Anti-Recreationists are trying to distort our image in the public eye, and try to prevent this as much as possible...

We need to stop catering to the environmentalists and start being PRO-ACTIVE, not re-active. We need to not spend so much time worrying about how we are portraying ourselves, and spend more time portraying ourselves in a positive aspect. Image is everything when it comes to the general public....

As far as the guys saying "it's not happening here, so it's not my problem..." well you're right too - for now. BUT If you think for one second that it's only going to happen to Ca - You're DEAD WRONG. I think Martin Niemoeller said it best in the following quote. Take a few minutes and really think about it....

“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Now decide if your going to do anything about it, because if you don't....there will be noone left to help you when you need it....

P.S. - TN85YOTA - Nice Doors :)
