I am looking into a gas or diesel power portable welder to place in shop and tie in to my Elec grid. I want to take advantag of all uses such as Stick, Tig steel and alum, Mig and Plasma and around 11KW. I have been looking at lincoln and Miller trailblazer, Miller seems to be the best for the $ so far. I asked the local Airgas about a transfer swith on the Miller but they seem to be at a loss on that. Looking for your thought and pros and cons and if you have any other ideas. 3 phase would be great but probley more $$ than I am willing to put out.

I am looking at the Miller Trail Blazer Diesel A bit expensive at the start but I feel it makes up for that by the easy access to fuel out of the tanks for the heating system in a real emergency.:grinpimp:
It also comes with the 14 pin plug to run all the Miller goodies like the arc starter High Frequency box if you want to do Aluminum Tig or the x-ra control for wire Aluminum.
Yes most counter people will be at a loss to know about the transfer switch, I know back about the Y2K thing Home Depot was selling them .
They still might be as I have not needed one I really don`t take notice.
