mt all. covers
fluid dpner
5 year old rebuild

inside....
from the bottom i can see that it has...
all. rods
steel or forged crank....no casting marks
arp fasteners through out...as far as i can tell
some sort of coated pistons seen from under side
pan was converted to rear sump
melling oil pump

now for the questions
im trying to identify this thing......
cast marks on drive side next to the filter are...6L2 or 6E2...bad casting
pass side numbers.....o6mea...or 06mea...also kinda dirty casting
and 352 on front with 8 under it

on the mounts it has 2 bolt mounts with a stud in the mddle for the frame mount..........
under the mount is a freeze plug with 2 threaded bolt holes ..1 on each side of the freeze plug on the same plane as the motor mount holes.....

OK, the 352 on the front of the block means.....nothing, that is the standard FE mold number prior to 1973. The other marking is C6MEA meaning it was cast in 1966 and could possibly be a 428 block. If it is it will have a rough 'C' or 'A' (made by scratching it into the sand casting) in drivers side of the bell housing area, that's the only mark Ford used to identify it as a 428.

Go back and spin the crank and find the mark, it will be something like 2T or 1U, that will identify the stroke. It can be tough to locate.

Do a google search on how to do the drill bit test, that's a good start on identifying whether or not the block has thick enough cylinder walls to be a 428. If by some miracle it were a 427 the cylinders will be siamesed.

360s, 390s and 410s have 4.05 bore, 428s are 4.13. 427s are 4.23 IIRC. The stroke on a 352 and 360 is 3.50. The 390 and 427 are 3.78, the 410 and 428 are 3.98. Only a 427 (or 391 FT) would have a steel crank, the others are high nodular cast which is pretty damn tough.

99% of the FEs I come across are 352s, 360 or 390s or 390s made from 352s and 360s, which is not a bad thing. They usually have C8AE-H or D2TEE-A (?) heads.

What are the casting #s on the heads? If you are looking at aluminum connecting rods they are not stock. The StreetMaster can be a pig for low end grunt, it's better for higher rpms.
