: What gauge sheet metal for body panels?

18 Gauge is what a CJ's is made of...

i would say 16 - 14 gauge were you aren't using lots (for weight)

and 18 for stuff that you think will be to heavy or will never come in contact with rock (right)


also 16-14 will resist shopping carts much better!!

i plan to do the rear of my CJ5 with some 1/4" that i rolled to fit my corner, there will be hardly any fender left some it wont be much:flipoff2:

18 gauge it is. That is....when not using 3/16"......... :D
