Well I finally got the motor rebuilt and was thinking of "in a few weeks " lifting my 89 std cab 2wd DD ( can't take being overlooked on the street anymore :) ) but with the engine out all the brackets are just too accessable to make for a clean SAS. So starting sunday the front "A" arms are coming off and SAS is being done. An 87 4wd rear housing is going in the rear mounted to chevy's. The truck is going to stay 2wd for a while as I have no $$ or need to get a 4wd tranny and t-case (the rest of the parts are laying around) so the front housing will be empty...perfect for my pavement pounder seeing as if I ever get the itch to wheel I just hop in the buggy.

Later (as time permits) it will end up being bobbed, in cab cage through dash and full bumpers and half doors

i seriously looked into making that little 2wd blue truck into a SAS 4wd. i cut off my ifs on the 87 4runner and the 2wd frame looks to be WAY less work. of course the motor on the 4runner went south and it got a good beating, so i just ended up stealin that cab from you, and using half the little blue truck with the 4runner running gear...

...keep us posted! dont forget the PIX!

is it me, or are the body mounts and motor mounts lower on the frame on the 2wd chassis??

I'll have to look but I think the motor mounts are the same.....the steering box looks a little far back though (don't have to clear big tires)

I know where I might be able to get you a 4 wheel drive tranny and t-Case fairly cheap. I will ask the guy tomorrow how much he wants for it. I have to borrow his trailer so I can pick up the cab I am buying!!!:D
