iscout62 08-17-2002, 12:24 AM Is there some ancient secret to removing this thing? I have the intermediate shaft out, and the forward drive gear removed, but I cannot get the main shaft out. The rear bearing is out, but I just cant seem to move the 2-4 slider far enough forward to get the fork out. Thx, :confused: Mechanos 08-17-2002, 08:30 AM unbolt the rear output shaft housing and remove them together. Then either press the shaft out or drive it out with a brass drift. The speedo drive gear is a press fit on the output shaft and is keeping it from just sliding out. Once the shaft is out, you will also need to press or otherwise remove the bearing. iscout62 08-17-2002, 11:33 AM Whoops, I guess I was kinda tired last night. You should also pull the rear bearing race to ease the removal process.
