I am almost ready to do an F-150 disc brake swap on my '72 Bronco. I have hubs, rotors, calipers and brackets, and spindles. I have been trying to find the right master cylinder and booster and have been told many different things. Would a '76 F-250 2WD w/ big block set-up work for me? What have you guys done out there? What about the little parts like bushings and seals? What the hell is a banjo bolt?!! This is my first Bronco and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Chopo

You basically want a M/C from a disc brake vehicle. If the vehicle in question had disc brakes, you're good.
As for the banjo bolt, that's the bolt that goes from your flexible brake line into the caliper. It has the hole in it that allows brake fluid to pass through it.
Good luck man!

Hi Jack,
Do you have disc brakes in yours? If so, what vehicle did you pull yours out of? Thanks for the reply. Chopo

I'm using one from a late 70's Lincoln. You can use one from an F250. Their probably all the same anyway. If you doing a brake conversion and don't know what a Banjo bolt is, it might not be a bad idea to have a buddy that know's brakes check the conversion before you head down the freeway at rush hour.

I have disc's up front (ch*vy) and the BC Bronco's kit for the rear (not installed yet). I got my M/C off of a early 80's Lincoln.
Don't worry, I didn't know what a banjo bolt was either. Make sure you grind the knuckle by the turn stops! Otherwise although the caliper will slide on it won't be able to move and you won't have much braking power. You should see at least 1/8" of daylight all around the thing. And I ground it all of off the caliper. Out in the middle of BFE there are plenty of parts houses with chevy calipers, not many with a grinder.
Good luck bro!

I did a swap all around to 4wheel discs. I used 76 Blazer fronts and a TSM kit in the rear . You keep the Ford knuckle but use chevy spindles and backing plate , ford hub and rotor along with the same year model calipers and other hwd. Pretty simple swap if you take the time to gather up all the parts yourself . Grinding the knuckle is paramount for clearance as a chevy knuckle has a big divot cast into it for clearance . good luck :flipoff2:
